Here at The Energy Warehouse we are passionate about renewable energy and so we have created a showroom where we have, under one roof, several renewable energy systems that are fully installed and working so that you can come and see for yourself how they work, what they look like and, most importantly what they can produce.

The main installed systems include solar hot water panels, solar photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and a biodiesel plant. All of these are fully operational, so why not come and have a look - we will happily explain how they work and what benefits they can bring to you. The world of renewable energy is fast changing and with the introduction of feed-in-tariffs for electricty as from the 1st April this year (2010) and the announcement that the Renewable Heat Incentive (which will cover things like solar hot water panels and heat pumps) will come into effect in April 2011 the payback time for renewable energy systems has been greatly reduced. With rates for electricity production ranging up to 44.3 pence per kilowatt hour the payback times for photovoltaics has been brought down to between 10 and 12 years. With systems currently yielding returns of up to 10% now is the time to take advantage of these generous tariffs. There are very few places where you can earn 8% plus on your money currently: tax free and index linked! If you are close by we are able to come and visit your house and offer impartial advice on the various types of renewable energy systems that are available. The advice may be as likely to say none of them are suitable as to say they are suitable!

Microgeneration Certification Scheme

We are fully accredited installers under the government's microgeneration scheme for both solar hot water and solar photovoltaic systems. Our MCS number is MCS 1295. Only systems installed by companies that are certified under this scheme are eligible for capital grants under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme and for payments under the new feed-in-tariff scheme that started in April 2010. Also when the Renewable Heat Incentive arrives in April 2011, which will apply to heat pumps and solar hot water panels and solid biomass boilers, only systems installed by an MCS accredited company will be able to apply for the RHI. We are also trained Domestic Energy Assessors so we can complete an Energy Performance Certificate on your house which forms part of the Home Information Pack. As of October 2008 EPCs are also required for when a property is rented out in addition to when they are sold. Please go to the EPC page for further information.
